Abstract
Relay based experiment is known as a useful technique to obtain the information of the open-loop system without breaking the feedback loop. In this paper, the authors applied the recently modified version of the relay experiment technique to the closed-loop identification of a servomotor system. The estimated frequency response based on the relay experiment results in more reasonable than a sinusoidal response based estimate, which is affected by friction nonlinearity especially at low frequency.
