Abstract
In this study, a sensor system for measurement of a contact stimulus of diapers to infants is developed. The polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) film, which is a kind of piezoelectric material and strain gauge are used as the sensor materials. The sensor consists of a surface contact layer, PVDF film, a strain gauge and an aluminum plate. First, the sensor is located on a silicone block and the upper of the sensor part is rubbed with acrylic finger, the sensor performance is investigated. Next, the sensor is attached on a doll simulated a infant. The doll is made a walking motion and measures a contact stimulus without or with a diaper. It was found that there is a possibility that this sensor can quantify a contact stimulus of diapers for infants.
