J1102-1-6 Evaluation of influence on MRI scans to electromagnetic waves for Open type MRI

Abstract

MRI is now utilized not only for diagnosis but also for intraoperative surgical treatment. Many MR Compatible robotic and mechatronics systems were developed by in order to treat within MRI. However, there is a problem that the leak electromagnetic waves from the developed instrument affect on MR images. Therefore, we evaluated the influence on MRI scans to electromagnetic waves for Open type MRI. As the result, in a resonant frequency band, electromagnetic waves will not affect MRI scans by less than -71.85 dBμA/m around the MR coil. We think that this evaluation result is effective for developing novel MR Compatible robotic and mechatronic systems for acquiring MR images.
