Abstract
Removal of NO_x from diesel engine's exhaust has become essential issue because NO_x is one of air pollutants. In this paper, NO_x removal by a dielectric barrier discharge was investigated experimentally. A diesel particulate filter (DPF) was set into discharge field as a dielectric barrier. DPF accumulating 3.2 g/L of PM was used. A mixture of N_2, NO and O_2 was used as a test gas. It was found that the existence of fresh PM was effective for NO_x removal, However this effect deteriorated with aging time of PM.
