Abstract
Heat transfer to combustion chamber wall in reciprocating internal combustion engine, thus grasping the time variation of amount of heat loss would be useful information directly connects to thermal efficiency improvement. This research have been examine amount of heat transfer to combustion chamber wall per crank angle by pressure change in cylinder with assuming working fluid as an air. The discharge coefficient necessary for calculating compression leakage gas is to be determined experimentally, therefore optimization of flow passage area, volume between the piston rings and discharge coefficient was experimented. Moreover, how compression ratio which determines thermal efficiency effects heat loss was measured.
