Abstract
In this paper, we present results of numerical experiments for 3D reinforcement corrosion shape estimation problem based on observed temperature on concrete surface. As for the technique of numerical simulation, the finite element method is introduced. In addition, the adjoint variable method is employed to obtain the shape of reinforcement corrosion such that computed temperature is close to the observed temperature. In this study, we investigate the dependency of obtained reinforcement corrosion shape with respect to initial shape which is given as the initial value in the shape determination problem.
