Abstract
The authors proposed fatigue life prediction of arc welded structures using cyclic plastic zone size ω^* obtained by stress singularity analysis at weld toe and root. This paper is concerned with the applicability of this method to the fatigue design of the automobile welded body structures. Now, the joint reseach project on the fatigue design method of automobile arc- and spot welded structuresis is carried on by JSAE Fatigue and Reliability Committee.
