Abstract
A metal inlection molding (MIM) process was apllied to Ni_3Al intermetallic compounds. The starting materials were Ni and NiAl(Ni-50Al(at%)) powders pre-mixed to the composition of Ni-27Al, Ni-25Al, Ni-24Al and Ni-23Al. They were mixed with the organic binder, and then injection-molded to the shape of tensile test-pieces. The green compacts were debound in vacuum(Ar gas frow) at 380℃ and sitered in vacuum(10^<-2> Pa order) at 1325℃ for 2 hours. The relative densities of the sintered compacts were more than 96% regardless of their compositions. The microstructures and mechnical properties of these sintered compacts were investigated.
