Abstract
In order to investigate the mechanism of atmospheric corrosin of Zn-5%Al alloy plated steel, the immersion test was carried out. The change in surface appearance was examined for the specimen immersed in 3% NaCl aqueous solution. From the experimental results and our previous results, it was clear that the corrosion was remarkable near the sectional surface, and influenced by pH of the solution. To clarify the effect of pH on the corrosion, the immersion time dependence of corrosion potential of the specimen was measured in buffer solutions of various pH, and the surface of the corroded specimens was observed.
