Abstract
In order to examine the combustion efficiency and its mechanism on solid waste fuels such as RDF produced form industrial fields, authors have conducted experiment to analyze the burning behavior of solid waste fuels in high temperature environment by using the microgravity technique achieved in a freely falling chamber. The food of Nisiki-koi as the solid waste fuels is used because its chemical composition is very similar to solid waste fuels generated from industrial productions. The ignition and combustion behavior of solid waste fuels under both conditions of normal and microgravity are observed by taking the direct photographs with 8-mm video camera, and the mechanism of ignition delay and total burning time involving the duration of luminous flame and smoldering have been revealed
