Abstract
This paper describes about the acoustic characteristics of the sound field in a cylindrical cavity coupled with the point-driven end plates. An analytical model is proposed, in which the elastic surround is represented by linear and torsional springs distributed uniformly around the exciting plate edge, and coupled vibration analysis is carried out for varying the amplitude ratio and the phase for the exciting force. The results show that the plate motion of the similar mode to the sound field has a influence on the acoustic mode shape even if the exciting force is relatively weak, and the varying phase makes the influence area spread out.
