Abstract
This paper describes recent development of intelligent materials and structure. Based omano-technologies related to magnetic field, electron charging, dangling bond, point defects, atomic distance, proton and adsorption, smart and intelligent materials with three intelligent principle functions of power, sight and reliability have beensuccessfully developed. To obtain high power, bimorph actuators operated by hydrogen gas and magnetic field were developed. High resistance to noise was found in giant magnetostrictive Fe-Pd alloy film. Hybrid magnet and their mounted motor also obtained high power. Inorganic materials with high transparency (sight function), sterilization and high strength wereobtained by electron beam irradiation. As reliability functions, fatigue limit prediction method for PZT ceramics, high yielding process for 10GPa class carbon fiber and homogenization with properties controlling for amorphous materials were developed.
