Abstract
The disadvantages of parametric surface modeling methods become obvious when a compound surface is designed. Recursive subdivision schemes have been verified to be effective in the field of CAD as well as Computer Graphics and Computer Animation. Two classifications of subdivision schemes are briefly introduced and their applications are presented.
