Abstract
This paper deals with the stress singularity problem of an infinite elastic thick plate subjected a torsional displacement by a circular rigid cylinder embedded in the plate. It is assumed that the end face of the cylinder is bonded to the bottom plane of the circular hole of the plate, and the circumferential surfaces are free from surface forces. A body force distribution method is used to investigate the problem. The stress distributions on the interface and the order of stress singularity are shown.
