Abstract
In order to study about the pipe global, and at the same time, large deformation during the burst tests in details, especially during or just before fracture, we have developed a 3D strain measurement system based on image processing approach. In this paper, the details of the system are presented first. Then, result of 3D strain measurement throughout a burst test is summarized, and finally whether prediction of fracture location in correlation with the strain distribution was possible or not will be summarized.
