Abstract
Adaptive method is a methodology that meshes are improved automatically so that the error estimated from analysis solutions becomes low. This method requires a frequent remeshing. Therefore, with the conventional mesh generation methods such as Delaunay lriangulation, the calculation cost for a frequent remeshing is not cost-effective. In this study, to reduce the calculation cost, we apply hierarchical meshes to adaptive method. Hierarchical meshes are meshes which have hierarchical data structure to achieve high-speed remeshing. As a result of this study, we succeed in speedup of the remeshing process in adaptive analyses.
