Abstract
This study aimed to measure the value of local elasticity of living human marrow mesenchymal stem cells (hIvISCs). Atomic force microscope (AEM) was used to evaluate elastic properties of cells since it can obtain high resolution topographic images of biological samples, and has a capability to measure the force between the probe and sample. To obtain cellular elasticity with AFM, force curve was measured in vitro and was analyzed using Hertz model. The experiment results show that the elasticities of hMSCs are 15 to 60 kPa, and the value in central part of the cell is smaller than that in surrounding part.
