Abstract
The layered metal materials (clad) could include various defects at the interface such as delaminations , which can be introduced during rolling and thermal treatment processes. Therefore non-destructive inspection in the manufacturing process becomes important, and the method which is able to partially evaluate a long sheet in a manufacturing process is necessary. Although the the resonant ultrasound spectroscopy (RUS), has been widely applied to inspect individual samples, it has never been applied for a partial evaluation of continuum The aim of this study is to develop the evaluation system for long sheet using the RUS. The experimental setup which measures a partial resonance characteristic of long sheet is built up, and its validity as an inspection system is discussed.
