Abstract
The influence of the excessive tensile loading on low cycle fatigue crack propagation behavior of stress corrosion cracking was studied. The experimental results indicated that the growth rate of low cycle fatigue crack was affected by kinking of crack due to inter-granular stress corrosion cracking and plastic deformation at the crack tip due to the excessive tensile loading. Both of them lead to retardation in low cycle fatigue crack propagation.
