PS0003-167 Measurement of the longitudinal elastic modulus of wood by the indentation test using a ball indenter

Abstract

Wood is a complex material which has late part on a hard layer and early part on a soft layer. In order to expand an application of wood, the mechanical properties of wood should be investigated. In this study, the indentation test to the micro region of wood is carried out. The mechanical properties of wood can be given by comparing the experience data and FEM analysis data. In FEM calculations, the mechanical behavior of the wood is described on a viscoelastic material by using Prony series.
