Abstract
La_<0.6>Sr_<0.4>Co_<0.2>Fe_<0.8> O_<3-δ>(LSCF) has emerged to be a promising candidate as cathode for solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) and as oxygen separation membrane because of its oxygen ion conductivity. The purpose of this study attempts to clarify a variation of oxygen non-stoichiometry in LSCF under axial compression. An electrochemical cell consisting of YSZ (yttria stabilized zirconia)/LSCF/YSZ with glass sealing is prepared, which is examined using oxygen coulometric titration. The change in oxygen nonstdichiomery obtained in this experiment wa by two order smaller than the literature value. Theoxygen nonstoichiometry increases with the applied stress, wich could be due to an enlargement of effective contact area between YSZ/LSCF.
