It is suggested that the fracture stress required for crack extension greatly improves when Poisson's ratio approaches -1, but there is no proven example. We aim to develop a material that can relax stress concentration by intentionally making mechanical metamaterial having negative Poisson's ratio and evaluating linear elasticity and then evaluating correlation with stress distribution.
