Abstract

The high mechanical and biodegradable performances of continuous fiber reinforced polymer matrix recently have drawn considerable attention. Cellulose nanofibers (CNFs) which have good mechanical properties are nanometer-scale fibers extracted from plant cell walls. In this study, we used 2 types of CNFs which are normal CNF and chemically modified CNF (CM-CNF). We evaluated the bending and tensile behavior of CNF reinforced composites by three-point bending test and tensile test. The fracture strain of epoxy resin was increased by the CNF addition of about 0.1 vol. %. Then, structural analysis (FT-IR and XRD) were carried out.
