This paper reports preliminary experimental results of shock wave/ solid particle interaction phenomena for understanding of shock wave attenuation related to shock wave medical and biomedical applications. A solid particle was interacted with micro-explosive-induced spherical shock wave. The process of spherical shock wave/ a solid particle interaction phenomena was visualized by shadowgraph method and recorded by a high-speed camera. Water vapor generation by the shock wave interaction, that is heat transfer is an important factor for the shock wave pressure attenuation. High-speed shadowgraph sequential images show that water vapor was generated from the interacting porous particles containing water.
