Abstract
The new design of a fresnel lens refracting a cold-neutron beam is proposed in this paper. The authors applied an ultraprecision electrolytic in-process dressing (ELID) micro-grinding technique using cast-iron bonded diamond wheels whose edges have been sharpened by electrical and mechanical processes to fabricate the element, and successfully obtained the required element with a sharp and smooth V-faced fresnel structure using quartz glass.
