Abstract
This is an introduction of the calibration system of linear encoder of Dr. Johannes Heidenhain GmbH. Linear encoder is one of the best solution for high accurate and good repeatable positioning of various machine. The calibration system was seldom introduced up to today because calibration itself contains so many nervous matters and put under continuous research in so many years from 1960. After ISO9000 was spread among the manufacturers, the tracability of reference system in a company became considered as one of the important factor for ISO9000 clearance. And in a same time, the calibration method of encoder became a matter of concern recently. This paper is a first outline introduction of our calibration system with high accurate temperature control.
