Abstract
The values of run-out, the stiffhess, gripping torque, and balance, are often used as the performance evaluation of tool-holders. The superiority or inferiority of the tool-holder is often distinguished based on those values. However, the validity of these values and the experiment based on them are little, and the relation to the cutting is is not still clarified. In this paper, the cutting performance of two kinds of tool holders with different performance;run-out, stiffness, gripping torque, were compared and verified. The profiles of each hole drilled were measured, and the superiority or inferiority of the tool holder was distinguished based on those measurements. To improve the validity of this technique, a wide cutting condition was intentionally applied. Moreover, an easy distinction became possible because of measurements expressed by using a contour line chart.
