Abstract
Monitoring of scratching motion, accompany with itchiness, is important for the medical treatment of skin diseases associated with itchiness. In this paper, the microphone sensor system for measuring human scratching by scratch sounds is developed. The dorsal hand microphone is fabricated. And, in order to investigate the relationships between the scratch sounds and the mechanical characteristics of human scratch motion related to the contact force, we measure human scratching motion and scratch sounds by using the developed microphone sensor system and 3 dimensional motion capture system. In experiments, dorsal hand microphone is attached on the back of participates' hand and participates scratch their own skin. From the experimental results, the relationships between skin scratch sounds and contact force during scratching were clarified.
