Abstract
Magnetorheological (MR) fluid is known as one of the highly functional materials, whose rheological properties can be varied by applying magnetic fields. Applying MR fluid to a damping element, variable damping can be obtained. In this paper, An MR damper was constructed and its characteristics were verified. When a model structure of three degree of freedom was equipped with the MR damper, the frequency response of the structure was measured. Furthermore, in order to adapt to the change of the characteristics of the MR damper, neural networks were applied to the vibration control system of the model structure and the vibration control experiment was conducted.
