Creep behavior of PMMA and PC near the glass transition temperature

Abstract

We experimented creep tests of polycarbonate (PC) and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) at constant applied stress. The creep curves of PC and PMMA depended on the temperature and stress. The lives of both polymers were expressed by the following equation. t_<&ipartint;>&vprop;σ^<-n> The values of n depend on the temperature. They were reduced near the glass transition temperatures.
