Abstract
In this paper we try to develop a non-contact method to measure thickness of plates. Making a plate material vibrate by sound and measuring its vibration by a Laser-Doppler vibrometer. Based on the frequency of the vibration we evaluate the thickness of the plate. To confirm the present method we measure concrete plates and a steel plate. According to the results, thickness of plate can be measured within about 3%.
