Abstract
Micro shaped wiredrawing such as round-to-hexagon and round-to-square drawing has been investigated based on the results of experiments and FE-simulations. Accompanying increasing demands for lightweight, thin and small products, the drawing technology for micro shaped wire is making a rapid progress. The shaped wires are used for connector terminals of a cellular phone and the laptop computer and shaft of micro robot. Furthermore, the requirement to reduce fabrication cost is increasing in the market. Optimization for reduction per pass and die angle in drawing was performed, which enabled us to fabricate micro square wire in which diameter is 400μm. The author clarified, from FE-simulation and experiments, that drawing condition for getting the micro shaped wire of which dimensional accuracy and quality are good.
