Abstract
In order to evaluate the mechanical properties of the electrodes in Lithium-ion battery under resistance heating, it is important to estimate the load distribution of each electrode which is difficult to be measured directly. This paper describes a novel method to estimate the load distribution between the electrodes in Lithium-ion battery by the inverse analysis of the deformed shape data of the electrodes. In this method, the finite element method is applied to each electrode using the measured displacement of the electrode as the boundary condition. In addition, numerical simulations have been performed to demonstrate the validity of the proposed method. In the numerical simulations, the correct load distribution and the displacement of the electrode under resistance heating was obtained by the direct analysis in advance. Then the inverse analysis was applied on the obtained displacement. The results show that the load distribution estimated by the proposed method has good agreement with the correct load distribution.
