Abstract
A flash temperature on tooth surface is one of the important measurement parameters caused by the tooth contact and tooth surface pressure strength directly in gear running test. This flash temperature is generally measured by the thermocouple buried in the tooth surface or measuring method which substitutes it by measurement with thermocouple mounted on the tooth tip surface. However, the evaluation method of this flash temperature is not established still so much, and is also few examples. Therefore, the noncontact measurement of flash temperature on tooth surface was tried by using the infrared thermography in the present report. As a result, it can be seen to understand both an accurate tooth contact region and the strength of the tooth surface pressure from flash temperature distribution on tooth surface.
