Abstract
This paper presents a study on bending fatigue strengths of induction hardened thin-rimmed spur gears with web arrangement. Bending fatigue tests were carried out for different induction hardened thin-rimmed spur gears with web arrangement. By measuring the case depth and observing the micro-structure of the case depth of the induction hardened gears, the effects the case depth, thickness of rim, heating time and web structure on the bending fatigue strength were determined.
