Abstract
Research and development of an auto-programming and 3D-simulation system for NC (Numerical Control) machining of free-form surfaces are carried out. First, the architecture and interface of the system, theoretical basis of NURBS, format of NURBS-NC machining program, compensation of cutting path and 3D-NC simulation method are described. Then, NC machining of free-form surfaces on gas turbine blade, portable telephone and vacuum-cleaner is performed by using the developed system and the results discussed.
