Abstract
A production planning support system based on a Genetic Algorithm (GA) has been developed for production planning linked with a parts supply planning at PWB manufacturing section two or more, and achieving a system for optimizing the capability of the factory. Technical features of the developed algorithm include (1) Reduction of solution space by placing adaptability functions at different hierarchical levels, (2) Increased efficiency of searching the proximity area of the optimum solution, and (3) Parallel computation using the island model employing multiple computers. The developed algorithm enables the rapid creation of an optimized production schedule.
