Abstract
Remanufacturing is an industrial process in which used products are completely disassembled and then removed parts are cleaned, often refurbished, and assembled, if necessary, with new parts. This paper deals with process planning and scheduling in such remanufacturing. If we make a process plan and a schedule in advance of remanufacturing execution, we can not perform remanufacturing according to the process plan and schedule since there are a lot of uncertainties in remanufacturing. To resolve this issue, we propose on-the-spot process planning and scheduling for remanufacturing. This approach makes a process plan or decision every time it is to be made during the remanufacturing execution. Simulations are carried out to show the effectiveness of the approach.
