1103 Basic Study on Development of Design Support System Based on Function Features for Drawing Punch and Die

In detail design work, not only a product shape but also attribute (roughness, tolerance, etc.) is determined. However, for inexperienced designers, it is extremely hard to determine optimum attribute values. In addition, it is more difficult to re-model the shapes of die and mold from the product shape. In this paper, a method to automatically assign attribute, to re-model the shapes of die and mold, and to indicate design support information is proposed. The method is realized by introducing "Function Features". And a basic system based on the proposed method is constructed on a CAD system, and the usefulness is discussed.
