Abstract
This paper proposes a maintenance planning method based on effectiveness evaluation of Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) for maximizing economic efficiency and reliability. For this purpose, we evaluate the probability of overlooking failure signs in CBM by using the failure distribution estimated based on maintenance data, as well as the lifetime prediction accuracy evaluated based on a deterioration model. We applied the proposed method to potentiometers of air-conditioning devices, and showed that introdution of CBM to the potentiometer is effective for reducing both maintenance cost and failure rate of the device.
