Abstract
The additive manufacturing has much possibility to realize the small-batch production. When a user fabricates a large product, the product model is usually divided into some segments in a feasible size for the processing machine. We call it parallel fabrication because some segments can be processed in parallel at a time. This approach has a merit to reduce the lead time to build one product. Therefore, the segmentation and connection design is required. In the present paper, the segmentation and connection design for parallel fabrication of product is dealt with. The purpose of this study is to propose a general segmentation and connection method to satisfy geometrical requirements. As the first step of this stud}らsome joint methods for cyliandrical shapes are proposed. These models are fabricated and evaluated with some experiments.
