Abstract
This study deals with a cyber-physical manufacturing simulator capable of measuring the energy efficiency and productivity based on real- time measurement of material flow and power consumption of the real system. We here attempt to implement a scheduler function onto the simulator to make it possible to observe effects of scheduling results on the energy efficiency (amounts of product per consumed energy) of the manufacturing process. Some simple simulations using a miniature flexible transfer line demonstrate the total energy efficiency may vary drastically according to a job sequence.
