Abstract
An inductive power supply system supplies moving objects with its electricity without contact. A large scale material handling system needs a lot of expensive power panels since there is a length limit that it can supply its cable. This study applies a typical layout to the following three algorithms to minimize the number of panels for its cost-effectiveness; a random search, Ant Colony Optimization and Left Compaction Method which is originally developed and selects the nearest unit from a basing point. Simulation results show the possibility that the Left Compaction Method is the best solution among the three algorithms in this layout.
