Abstract
With its high chemical stability, extremely low toxicity and physical properties similar to liquefied petroleum gas, dimethyl ether (hereinafter referred to as "DME") is a promising synthetic fuel Osaka Gas Co, Ltd , Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Co, Inc, JGC Corporation, ITOCHU Corporation and Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation are jointly developing a compact and highly efficient DME-fuelled Fuel Cell system We have been conducting research and development on 1) a DME reforming catalyst, 2) a high-efficiency CO selective oxidation heat removal system, and 3) a compact and highly efficient fuel cell total system This paper reports mainly on development of DME reforming catalyst and its application to fuel cells
