Abstract
In this paper, unsteady state characteristics of the 1kW solid oxide fuel cell test module, which is fueled by the city gas (13A), are discussed. The power generation module is consists of cell stack, internal reformer, combustion chamber, recuperator and other auxiliary components. In the experiments, we measured the electric current and the voltage, the fuel, air and water flow rates, and temperature inside the module. In order to evaluate the load-following performance, we changed the reference values of the current on the DC output case and the power consumption on AC output case, respectively. Throughout the experiments, it is clarified that the cell stack voltage changed slowly after the load change depending on the slow variation of the module temperature. However the voltage response was slow, the power output was controlled sufficiently well by the current operation.
