Abstract
Reaction characteristics accompanied an oxidation process of nano-sized diesel particulates trapped on a filter was observed and investigated through an Environmental Transmission Electron Microscope and a Thermal Desorption Spectroscopy. The filter proposed here consists of SiC nano-particles including Pt nano-particles in their oxide layer. It was disclosed that a light-off temperature became lower in the case of filter with Pt since large amount of oxygen could be adsorbed around the oxide layer.
