Abstract
After the great earthquake at east japan, all nuclear power plants were stopped with the concern for the radioactive material. Just after the earthquake disaster, the electric power shortage occurred in the heart of city and the planned blackouts were carried out. Many people realized the electric convenience and importance by the planned blackouts. Besides, the anxiety over the stable supply of electric power grew, and heightened the consciousness about power saving by the inconvenient life due to the electric power shortage. Various management systems are proposed from those backgrounds. However, these many systems are carried out automatically by computer, and they can be lacking in consideration that the people can work on the reasonable energy saving action. This paper describes the energy saving effect by using the smart meter which visualizes the electric power consumption. Moreover, the application of watch for the elderly people using data of power consumption from the smart meter was discussed.
