Abstract
This paper shows the economic impact of introducing offshore wind power by I-O analysis. It is important to build consensus between wind power operator and fishery industries because fishery has an important role for local industries. Therefore, this paper shows the economic impact caused from withdrawal of fishery and installation offish-farming. The target area of this research is focused on Japan, Ibaraki prefecture and Iwate prefecture. The final demand occurring from the whole project is assumed and the regional final demand is calculated. The economic ripple effect to other industries is evaluated using I-O table. The results shows that the construction and operation of offshore wind farm produces a lot of economic effect, and the withdrawal of fishery cause the economic loss in local area. In order to introduce more renewable energy, cooperative systems with other industries must be designed.
