Abstract

The objective of this study is to examine proposed 2 stage adsorption refrigeration cycle consisting of 3 beds experimentally with hot water of 60 degC and cooling water of 30 degC. Low pressure side is running in the same way as conventional 2 stage cycle while high pressure side is operated twice as quickly as the low pressure cycle. It was confirmed that it worked with such a low grade driving heat source and there existed optimal cycle time to maximize the cooling capacity of the proposed cycle. The new operation with 4 times higher frequent cycle of the high pressure side was also examined, which actually worked and resulted in 19% improvement in terms of cooling capacity.
