CO2 emissions reduction and Fuel Consumption improvement for vehicles have been required due to the rising interest of environmental and energy problems. To improve fuel economy at warm-up or cabin heater use, unused thermal energy can be utilized. However, high-performance thermal storage materials have not been adopted for vehicles so far. In this study, we report the research and development of a high heat output and high-heat volume thermal storage system by using porous metal and focusing on the adsorbent phenomenon.
